Grand Shire Farm
We are settled on a beautiful piece of property in Sand Lake, MI. We named our 10 acres Grand Shire Farm thinking of a “shire” – a beautiful meadow filled with lush gardens and in our case the clucking of heirloom variety chickens and the buzz of our honeybees working their magic not only to pollinate the vegetables, but giving us sweet wildflower honey each September.
In the spring of each year, our greenhouse is filled with over 6000 herbs and heirloom tomato plants. These are available on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at the Fulton Street Farm Market, or you can call and stop by the greenhouse to make your selections. Throughout the rest of the year, guests are welcome to call ahead for a garden tour or schedule a lecture or hands on workshop. Our gardens are chemical free, and I incorporate both vertical gardening ideas and companion planting in the raised bed style design. I hope you enjoy looking over the website and feel free to contact me with any questions.
